Launch of the MiRAGe project
The kick-off meeting for the MiRAGe future investment project was held on January 31 at the ICSM.
Funded by Bpifrance to the tune of €2.6 million (for a total of €4.5 million) following the call for projects by Andra - the French National Agency for Radioactive Waste Management - the MiRAGe project (Microfluidic Tools for Accelerated R&D on Recycling Processes) aims to develop new recycling processes for spent nuclear fuel based on a complete platform of micro and millifluidic tools.
It brings together five partners: the CEA (CEA ISEC, CEA ISAS and CEA-Liten), which coordinates the project, the University of Aix-Marseille (Institut Universitaire des Systèmes Thermiques Industriels), the Toulouse INP (Laboratoire de Génie Chimique), the CNRS - Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (Laboratoire Réactions et Génie des Procédés de Nancy), and the industrial company Rousselet Robatel Kromaton - Centrifugation. The project has been approved by the AXELERA and Nuclear Valley competitiveness clusters.
This kick-off meeting gathered 40 participants and allowed to present the partners, the structure and the governance of the project as well as the various actions planned during the 4 years to come. The meeting ended with a visit of the Atalante and G1 laboratories involved in the project.
